Description
It is a flavorful coarse textured spice powder made from coriander seeds, cumin seeds, black pepper, red chillies, fenugreek seeds, and cinnamon, all ground into a flavorful mixture. Chana dal is used with chana powder. When preparing various types of sambhars, it is added with vegetables and lentils to enhance their flavour.
Sambhar Recipe: Wash and soak about 125-150 grm of arhar (tur) dal and leave it for 10-15 minutes. Take Pumpkin, Bottle gourd, Drumsticks, Green peas, Brinjal Chop finely and boil them all adding turmeric and salt. Noe heat 3 tbsp. ghee/oil in a pan, add black mustard, curry leaves, tempering of hing and roast with 4 tomatoes puree. Add 1 1/2-2 tbsp. KFI Sambhar Masala and salt to taste and fry for 10 minutes. Add boiled lentils and taste.
